Recap written by Logan Michelle Wilson, Seacrest Studios intern
Disney Channel star CoCo Jones stopped by The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to hang out with patients and guests inside Seacrest Studios. The songwriter and actress answered guest questions, signed autographs and even sang a song for an in-studio fan.
When asked how she became a singer, Jones credited her mother for acknowledging her talented voice. “My mom first caught me singing Barney” Jones said, “I later performed at school and church before singing the National Anthem at a Rams game.” At the age of 9 years old, her mother posted YouTube videos of her singing, that later caught the attention of Disney Channel scouts.
When asked what her "must need item" are on tour, Jones answered "my mom... and potato chips!" Jones also spoke about the thrills of being on tour, like staying up late at night and touring cities in her spare time. Jones was not shy when discussing being on tour with the boy band Mindless Behavior, as well as all the fun she has with the family members who travel with her. She even loves her tour bus bed.
But Jones didn’t just talk about her family and tour; she shared advice about following your dreams and who inspired her growing up. With role models who range from Raven Simone and Hilary Duff to Roberta Flack and Aretha Franklin, CoCo always dreamed of success. “Let’s do it, we can do. The Jones don’t say can’t,” is a family motto that Jones passed down to CHOP patients and guests.
A big thank you to CoCo Jones for a great visit to Seacret Studios. You can see her on Disney Channel’s Good Luck Charlie or listen for her first studio album debuting in the fall.
