James Arthur, X- Factor Winner and singer of the hit songs “Say You Won’t Let Go” and “Can I Be Him," recently visited patients and their families at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center

One could definitely sense a bond forming during the broadcast interview between James and Alexis, a patient on the interview panel, when she shared her love for various art forms. When it comes to her art, James advised Alexis to “keep doing it if it makes you feel good—usually that’s the best way to feel good, is to create.”

James Arthur is a true example of staying grounded as a celebrity and always helping others. When a girl on the interview panel named Megan asked what the best gift James ever gave to someone was, he shared about how he helped his family monetarily when they were in need, “When I signed my record deal, I got a little bit of money... I never had any money. I was very poor; I lived in a shoebox room pretty much. It was very nice to be able to help my mum and dad and sisters out.”

James also told the kids how he loves using music to connect with and aid people. If he were not a singer, he would still want a job that served those in need. “The only thing that makes me really feel like I’m doing something worthwhile is when I help people. I used to write CVs for people . . . I could help people that have been in long term unemployment . . . get back into work. So I’d probably be involved in something like that.”

If James Arthur’s visit made you wish he were in America more often, you’re in luck! James shared with the children that the United States is his favorite place, “I’m actually gonna move out here to America, probably . . . Los Angeles, just because a lot of the music stuff is there. I love it here; you’ve got the weather, you’ve got the beaches, you’ve got the mountains . . . the people seem to love music here. American culture . . . they embrace music a lot, more than anywhere I’ve ever been before.”

Thank you for visiting, James. We greatly appreciate your visit and had a wonderful time!
