Country superstar, Jimmie Allen, and his superstar kindergarten teacher, Mary Beth Adair, talked to patients in Seacrest Studios nationwide! The visit, hosted by Seacrest Studios at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN included studios in Atlanta, Charlotte, Orlando, DC, and Boston in celebration of National Read A Book Day.
Jimmie Allen is known for his chart-topping hits and his billions (you read that right!) of streams online. He has recently added author to his long list of accomplishments with the publication of his very first children’s book, “My Voice Is A Trumpet.”
During a touching moment for patients and families across the country, Jimmie’s kindergarten teacher, Mary Beth Adair, joined our special visit from Delaware for a reading of Jimmie’s book. Patients were then able to ask Jimmie questions about how this story came to life, what his favorite animal might be, and even who his friends in country music are.
Thank you, Jimmie Allen, and Mary Beth Adair, for spending National Read A Book Day with us, and for reminding us that our voices – even inside the hospital – are powerful teaching tools our entire lives!
