Sarah Detwiler
University of Georgia ‘22

Sarah is an upcoming senior at the University of Georgia where she is studying journalism and sports media. One day, she hopes to be a sideline reporter for the NBA or NCAA collegiate sports. Although growing up, she lived on the stage, performing, singing, dancing, and acting. At Seacrest Studios, she was excited to combine her love for connecting with audiences, making kids smile, and building new friendships all in one place.

Finn Carlin
University of South Carolina ‘23

Finn Carlin is a junior broadcast journalism major at the University of South Carolina. He has fervently pursued his passion for the art of visual storytelling since his sophomore year at Wando High School, which has led him to serve as the Program Director + Operations Manager of Student Gamecock Television (SGTV), the student-run television station at U of SC. He also has been an Anchor, Reporter, and Executive Producer for SGTV News 4, the station's broadcast news division since his freshman year at Carolina. Recently, he has started exploring the different multimedia facets of journalism, sparking an interest for being a Production Intern at Seacrest Studios Charlotte and leading him to accept roles as a Newscaster and News Reporter for WUSC 90.5 FM & HD-1 Columbia, the student radio station at U of SC, and as the Lead Editor for the Hear Me Out Podcast, the University of South Carolina Health Services' podcast about mental health initiatives at the university.

Allie Biss
Central Michigan University ‘22

Allie Biss is a Senior at Central Michigan University majoring in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts and minoring in Multimedia design. She is passionate about music, media, and serving others. As a Seacrest Studios intern, she got to share her love for radio, film, and TV with the patients at Levine Children's Hospital and hopes to continue to do so in the future.  Her favorite part about being a Seacrest Studios intern was being able to positively impact the lives of patients and families and spreading light and love to the people she interacted with. In her free time, she can be found taking photos everywhere she goes, spreading love, editing videos, creating content, or dreaming up her next project. 

Seacrest Studios is the most magical place on earth because of all of the love and passion that those involved with the studio spread - I'll never forget the memories made and lessons learned, and I hope to return in the future!”


Sam Perez
The University of Georgia ‘22

Sam Perez is a rising senior Journalism and Spanish major at the University of Georgia. Sam is originally from Lexington, KY, which is where she discovered her passion for broadcast and public speaking at a young age. She eventually moved to Athens to pursue her dream of becoming a multimedia journalist or digital reporter. Through her role as production intern at Seacrest Studios at Levine Children’s Hospital, she got to further explore the broadcasting world while also positively impacting others. Sam says she’s incredibly thankful for her time with us this summer, and she is forever grateful for the opportunity she had to spread a little bit of positivity to the patients here at the hospital.

 “This summer at Seacrest Studios has truly been impactful all the way around — for not only the patients who got to find a little bit of joy in tough circumstances, but also for myself because I can genuinely say I’m walking away forever inspired by the people I've met over these past two and a half months."


Hollis Brecher
University of South Carolina ‘22

Hollis Brecher is a rising senior broadcast journalism major at the University of South Carolina with a minor in leadership studies who has a passion for all people but especially children. Hollis is the oldest of 2 younger brothers and has always embraced being a mentor to younger peers. She first heard about Seacrest Studios and thought it was the perfect internship that combined her passion and broadcast knowledge.  When she is not in the studio, Hollis is a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, as well was the Greek leadership fraternity Order of Omega. She can be found hanging out with her friends, watching Netflix, babysitting, or shopping! She will be graduating in May 2022 with her bachelor’s degree. 

“I wish I could go back to the beginning of the summer and tell myself there is no reason to be nervous because you have the best audience you could ask for. These kids are most courageous and strong people I met all summer. This summer has been full of magical moments thanks to Meredith and Hunter, and the rest of our intern class.”


Aleya Pillmear-Martin 
Appalachian State University ‘21

Aleya is a Senior at Appalachian State University who is very passionate about serving others and using her creativity to put smiles on her patient's faces. She knew Seacrest Studios was where she wanted to spend her Summer of 2021 because of her desire to interact with patients and families in a hospital setting!

Zoe Mehdi
Western Carolina University ‘23 

Zoe Mehdi is from Charlotte, North Carolina, and currently attends Western Carolina University. On track to graduate in 2023, she plans on obtaining a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in English. This is Zoe's second year interning at Seacrest Studios! Prior to this internship, she had never worked with broadcasting equipment, but she is a quick learner and was able to help guide new interns this year. She has a love for traveling and was able to share that with patients by hosting a virtual Road Trip show! She will never forget the friendships that she made while working at Seacrest Studios!

Austin Lanning
Belmont University ‘22

Austin Lanning is a Senior Entertainment Industries and Religious Studies major from Lorena, TX. Since he was little, Austin has sought to engage other people and the world through any means necessary, leading him into the world of international service, student government, sports, entertainment, and more. With a book, an album, poetry, and acting roles under his belt, Austin came to Seacrest Studios Charlotte this summer looking to combine his love to create with his passion to serve others. Each week, Austin led a cooking show where patients helped him cook meals and a history show where he celebrated stories and tales of people from all different backgrounds. In between these, his favorite part of the job was simply visiting and playing with patients, meeting them where they were. After graduation, Austin hopes to let his faith guide him to his next step and is looking for an opportunity to reach more people with entertainment through comedy at a network such as NBC, or through travel at a network such as National Geographic. 

“I learned very quickly that any sense of ego, agenda, or prediction must be left at the door; the best thing you could do was walk in the door and say, “I’m going to love these kids with all I have. What does that look like today?”


Nevaeh Keitt
Winthrop University ‘23

Nevaeh Keitt, an Orangeburg, SC native is a junior at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. Nevaeh studies Integrated Marketing and is active on and off-campus as an Army ROTC Cadet, a Peer Mentor, Campus Ministry Leader, and member of the DiGiorgio Student Union. Her favorite things to do are traveling, watching movies, and working out.

Gabrielle Frens
Queens University of Charlotte ‘22

Gabrielle Frens is a rising senior at Queens University of Charlotte majoring in Music Therapy.  She was able to learn more about the field of broadcasting and gain experience interacting with patients.  In her shows, she shared her passion for music and all things Disney.  She hopes to one day work in a children's hospital as a board-certified Music Therapist, and Seacrest Studios gave her the opportunity to learn more about what working in this environment looks like.

Sarah Burpeau
Duke University '22

Sara Burpeau is a rising senior at Duke University studying Statistics and Psychology. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas and has a strong passion for the Houston Rodeo. She is interested in pursuing a career in music festival planning or music journalism. Sara spends her free time scouring Spotify for new music, dancing with her dance team StreetMedicine, and telling everyone she knows how much she loves being from Texas.
