Abby Anderson Celebrates "I'm Good" in Seacrest Studios

Recap by Program Manager, Mamie Shepherd At the start of a whirlwind weekend for Abby Anderson, the country singer stopped by Seacrest Studios Nashville to see patients, sing some songs, and play a game! A day before her debut EP, "I'm Good," dropped, Abby previewed a few songs on the album for patients at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt with a live performance. Two days after her visit in Seacrest Studios, Abby made her Grand Ole Opry debut!  Abby told patients that she had dreamt of standing in that iconic circle at The Opry since she was a little girl.  She also told us all about her outfit plans for such an important night - they included sparkle pants!

Originally from Texas, Abby made the move to Music City to chase her music dreams.  She has been playing the piano since the age of 5, and she said it has taken a lot of practice to get where she is today!  Like many of us, Abby wasn't always thrilled to practice, but her hard work eventually paid off.

"I had a really great piano teacher who encouraged me to write my own music and that's kind of what started the love for songwriting.  I don't remember ever not singing." After a hilarious round of Song Libs - written to the tune of her hit song, "Make Him Wait," Abby talked about the song that changed her life.  "[Make Him Wait] is a song about everything my parents ever taught me. Just knowing that I'm a queen and that I am so valued and loved and all my worth and knowing what my worth means. This [song] is a big ol' dream!"

As an emerging social media star, Abby spoke about the pressures and criticism that can come with an online following. "I can be very hard on myself.  Whenever I start doing that, first thing I do is put my phone away and I stay off social media.  I write down all the things I'm thankful for." One thing is for sure, we are thankful that Abby came to spend time with us in Seacrest Studios Nashville!  She is a star on the rise, and we are happy to witness her climb to the top! You can catch Abby on The Long Way Tour with Brett Eldredge this fall!  Check out her new EP “I’m Good” available now!
