Adrienne Bankert Brings Kindness To Seacrest Studios

Written by Seacrest Studio Manager, Mamie Shepherd

The "Kindness Fireworks" went off in Seacrest Studios earlier this month as the countdown for the 4th of July began with new friend to Seacrest Studios and Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, Adrienne Bankert! The Emmy and Edward R. Murrow Award-winning correspondent for ABC News stepped away from her appearances on Good Morning America and ABC World News Tonight on Thursday to speak with the smallest among us about what kindness looks like, and what it means to be kind, even in the face of big obstacles.

Bankert, on a whirlwind tour with her new book Your Hidden Superpower: The Kindness That Makes You Unbeatable at Work and Connects You with Anyone, inspired everyone watching on all 11 floors of the hospital, and in clinics.

Many knew Adrienne from her reporting and anchoring. She has delivered some of the most important breaking news of our time.

Your Hidden Superpower: The Kindness that Makes You Unbeatable at Work and Connects You with Anyone "highlights the lessons Bankert has learned firsthand about compassion, facing competition and dealing with negativity at work and in life." This book serves as inspiration for how we all can conduct ourselves in life and in business, but it also addresses important issues college students, new graduates, and those looking for a job may face.

Bankert's sweet exchange with one particular patient was poignant as Adrienne discovered his love of Legos, and the model he built of New York City.

Adrienne spoke directly to patients about standing strong in the face of the unknown. This kind-hearted, internationally-known star of television news did not hesitate to give encouragement to patients who were hospitalized and away from family and friends. Her efforts to empower children carried everyone through the rest of the day.

To new author, Adrienne Bankert, we send our heartfelt thanks for being our friend, for being our "emergency raft," for inspiring us to extend kindness and friendship during the "Age of COVID" and isolation, for loving children, and for scattering joy! We can't wait for your next book and your return to Seacrest Studios!
