Atlantic Records recording artist, Ed Sheeran, stopped by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta while on a concert stop with Taylor Swift’s Red Tour last week. Sheeran, the UK certified quintuple platinum singer/songwriter, who insists on no-fuss and no entourages, charmed the patients who were lined up to see him at Seacrest Studios. The overseas singing sensation, who is taking America by storm with his acoustic guitar performances, has a long fan list that includes Taylor Swift, One Direction, rock legend, Elton John, and now . . . the patients at CHOA!

After a Q&A session, Ed Sheeran picked up James II, his guitar, famously marked with the “+” symbol (the title of his debut album) and captivated everyone in the studio with his hits, "The A Team" and "Lego House." When asked about his now-famous Red tattoo, marking his gig with Taylor Swift’s big tour this year, Sheeran took off his jacket to reveal the colorful artwork that decorates his arm.

The “Lego House” singer spent time with each patient who had come to see him. He autographed guitars and pictures. Sheeran hung around for a while, giving each patient special encouragement. You could see the delight in the face of patients when Sheeran reached out to speak to them. Ed Sheeran will be on the road through September with Taylor Swift and there is no doubt that thousands will flock to see him perform but, in a little corner of Atlanta, his biggest fans will be remembering a special day, in a special place, when a rising star stopped to speak to them. Thank you, Ed Sheeran!
