Eric Paslay Returns To Seacrest Studios Cincinnati

Recap by Seacrest Studios Intern, Sydney Numbers

Seacrest Studios at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center was excited to welcome country singer-songwriter, Eric Paslay, for the second time. Paslay stopped by the studio before performing a show in Cincinnati later in the evening, and was nice enough to answer questions from the co-hosts and studio audience.

Paslay talked about how the first hit song he wrote, “Barefoot Blue Jean Night”, was recorded by country singer, Jake Owen, and he first heard the song on the radio while driving in Nashville, TN. He revealed he had butterflies the first time he performed in front of an audience of 70,000 people, the biggest crowd he has ever played for. Paslay also revealed he likes all kinds of music; some of his favorite artists include Bruce Springsteen, Adele, Coldplay, and the Rolling Stones. Paslay also said that a dream of his is to work with country superstar, Dolly Parton.

Assistant Media Specialist, Whitney Osborne, asked Paslay what age he realized he wanted to pursue a music career. He said that when he was young, he wanted to be a doctor because he was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes and wanted to help kids just like his doctors helped him. However, when he was 18 years old, he went to college for music business and decided he wanted to pursue music. After the interview, Paslay played a rapid-fire game to “This or That,” and we found out he prefers dogs over cats, vanilla over chocolate, and Chinese food over pizza. He also played a game of “Pass or Play”, where we found out he loves to play football, mountain climb, and go zip lining. Paslay even played his new song, “Angels in This Town,” for the studio audience. “The main reason we’re here is to thank all the angels in this town,” he explained. “All the nurses and doctors that help y’all everyday… I just think they’re creating miracles everyday…” We couldn’t agree more. He was also nice enough to stay and sign autographs and take pictures with patients.

We really enjoyed our visit with Eric Paslay and we can’t wait for him to visit us again!
