Rixton Gives Patients At Seacrest Studios A Special Performance!

Recap by Kent Wyckoff

Patients and their families were treated to a special visit by Rixton at Seacrest Studios at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The four London and Manchester natives wowed audiences in their second visit to Seacrest Studios with their candid responses, raw musicality, and charm.

From humble YouTube beginnings to summer Billboard sensations, band members Jake Roche, Charley Bagnall, Lewi Morgan and Danny Wilkin seemed to shrug off their rapid rise to stardom. "We've got so many songs," said Bagnall "and they're all terrible!" exclaimed Wilkin as everyone laughed. Roche noted, "We just write together and kind of guide it in the right way." Clearly their efforts paid off as they narrowed down their top choices for their first album.

The crowd learned quickly that the band was more like a group of your best friends...who just happen to play music together. You might catch them watching some of their favorite cartoons from "Spongebob Squarepants" to "The Simpsons" and "Phineas and Ferb," or listening to some of their own favorite artists like Prince and One Republic. In fact, were they not playing music, you might instead find Roche surfing the ocean, Danny mastering his skills as a Chef, or Charley and Lewis playing some soccer. The highlight of the day came with a spectacular performance of Rixton's debut single, "Me and My Broken Heart," which will be buzzing around the hospital for weeks to come. Needless to say, many fans were left with broken hearts to see them leave, but CHOP is forever grateful for their visit and wishes them the best of luck on their future endeavors.
