Seacrest Studios COVID-19 Response

How Has COVID-19 Impacted Seacrest Studios?
From day one our goal has been the same - bring creative and entertaining experiences to patients in pediatric hospitals. Today, this is more important than ever. We always encourage kids to visit our studios to learn the technology, host their own shows and interview special guests. But even when we started the foundation, we knew that this might not be possible for every patient, depending on their injury or illness. This is why we equipped each studio with the ability to broadcast their programming directly to patient rooms and even implemented dedicated phone lines to the studios, so patients could interact from a distance. Now, with more patients confined to their rooms than ever before, due to the impacts of COVID-19, they are still able to watch programming and participate in a safe environment.

Through this pandemic, we have dedicated our time and resources to bringing celebrity guests, live performances, dance parties and our favorite gameshows virtually to patients nationwide. RSF continues to support all studios through technology purchases and upgrades to ensure virtual visits are a success. As the studios transition to fully virtual operations, we are adapting to address all needs.

Video Calls + Special Programming

Many artists and actors have been extremely generous with their time, offering to video call Seacrest Studios and talk with patients. We are grateful to Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Heidi Klum, Backstreet Boys, Jordan Davis, Dustin Lynch, Sofia Carson, Blackbear, the Disney Channel and so many others who have dedicated part of their quarantine to lifting the spirits of pediatric patients across the country.

Additional programming has included visits from hospital facility dogs, virtual calls with athletes, craft shows, yoga, Zumba, magic, games and remote intern shows. In this time of uncertainty, we hope to continue to provide a positive distraction and sense of normalcy for children’s hospitals.

A Word From One Of Our Hospital Partners
“I’m not sure how much you are hearing of the impact the studios are making during this time. I know ours has become one of the only ways some patients have any peer interaction and connection. It really is a magical thing that is happening in the midst of such an overwhelming time.” – Hospital Leadership at Children’s Health, Dallas

We are incredibly grateful for the ongoing support as we navigate new restrictions, created by COVID-19. We hope that you, your colleagues and your loved ones stay safe and healthy.
