Train Makes A Stop At Children’s Healthcare Of Atlanta!

All aboard! Train made a stop at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta while in town for a concert on the band’s 2012 tour. Front man, Pat Monahan, and guitarist, Jimmy Stafford, were welcomed by a big crowd of patients, staff, and fans at the Ryan Seacrest Broadcast Media Center after braving crazy Atlanta traffic.  It didn’t take long for the two performers from the Grammy award-winning band to completely light up the studio and warm the crowd with two of their hit singles, Hey, Soul Sister and Drive By (see video below). Pat Monahan’s dry sense of humor delighted the patients who chimed in on the chorus of Hey, Soul Sister. Sharing the little known fact that one of Train’s biggest hits, Drops of Jupiter, was actually recorded in Atlanta, Jimmy Stafford told the crowd that the group was happy to be back in the Peach State, and at our studio, with all the wonderful patients who had secured a special spot to see the multi-platinum artists. The story behind Marry Me, another huge, international Train hit was pretty amazing considering the fact that it started out as just a 50 second musical spot!  It went viral worldwide and now seems to be the go-to song for many brides walking down the aisle.  It was even part of some of the celebrations in Great Britain for the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton last year! While at The Voice, the two musicians told the patients that they have a busy tour schedule in the coming year, but that they like to see their families as much as possible while performing in the United States. When asked about their most recent album, Monahan and Stafford revealed that California 37, was named after the road they take to San Francisco, the city where the band was formed. After singing and being interviewed, the guys took time to hang out, sign autographs and take pictures with the patients. For everyone who gathered in the studio, Train’s stop in Atlanta was a very special event. --- A huge thank you to Mamie Shepherd for creating this great video and recap of Train's visit!
